Enhancing Environmental and Ecological Awareness and Education in Schools: Training Teachers on the Use of Web2.0 tools and Open Educational Resources

The language of the training: is english but the educational material will be available in seven different languages: English, Hungarian, German, Esthonian, Greek, Spanish, Romanian.

 

It is a comenius grant (school education) training activity.

The education sector of the participants (school and pre-school education) are primary

general secondary and vocational or technical secondary

 

The target audience are teachers (Pre-school, primary, secondary, vocational, adult, special needs), teacher trainers, careers officers, educational guides and counsellors, headteachers/principals/managers of schools/organisations offering adult education and other (paid or voluntary) management staff in the institution/organisation.

 

The training is an in-service training in the field of sciences as maths, chemistry, physics, natural sciences, biology and environment, new technologies, other courses for teachers of sciences (education on organic, ecological, climate change)

 

During the weeks following the training course the participants will have the opportunity through conducting specially designed mini-projects to further apply what they have learnt by designing their own educational scenarios, creating their own e-portfolios, developing their own open educational, and sharing them through the establishment of a teachers’ community of practice. The participants will be welcome to systematically participate to the communities of the Organic.Edunet and METASCHOOL projects. The training team will provide to the participants all the necessary guidelines and support to implement the proposed approaches in their classroom.

15th September 2010:

Introduction and overview of the Course from Prof. Laszlo Radics and Dr. Elisabeth Zistler.

Presentation of the participants and their prepared learning scenarios.

Introductory Keynote Talk.

Digital learning content and open educational resources [Lecture, 2 hours]

Collaborative creation of open educational content on environmental topics [Workshop, 2 hours]

Organising teaching material in personal e-portfolios [Lecture, 2 hours]

Finding online learning and teaching material in learning portals [Workshop, 2 hours]

19th September 2010:

Designing educational scenarios for environmental education [Lecture, 2 hours]

Collaborative adaptation of existing educational scenarios to the needs of own school, country, [Workshop, 2 hours]

Hands-on work with presented tools, focus on case studies [Workshop, 2 hours]

Closing - Conclusions - Presentation of Participants work [2 hours].

The fee of the training is 500 € it including (accommodation, breakfast and 1 meal)

Course fee is (tuition and materials): 400 €

The fee of the cancellation is: 200€
